Advancing Nuclear Equipment Localization: Provincial Key R&D Project Passes Expert Review

On June 23, Taikai together with China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNPE), held the Review Meeting for the Shandong Provincial Key R&D Program (Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project), which focuses on the localization of intelligent complete electrical equipment for nuclear power. Nine leading experts representing China’s nuclear regulatory authorities, design institutes, research centers, and power operators participated in reviewing and evaluating the project’s research plan.

During the review, the expert panel conducted a comprehensive assessment of the project task book in accordance with nuclear industry regulations and engineering standards. Discussions focused on technical challenges, R&D implementation pathways, and key performance indicators, with constructive recommendations provided to further optimize the project plan. Following thorough deliberation, the panel unanimously agreed that the project's overall research framework is well-structured, and that its technical standards, design basis, testing specifications, and intelligent technology indicators fully meet the project approval requirements.
